30 Years of Exploring Botswana. Since 1996, Bush Ways has been creating authentic safari experiences that connect travellers with the landscapes, wildlife and people of Botswana. What began as a small guiding operation has grown into an established Botswana safari operator with a diverse portfolio of mobile safaris, permanent camps and lodges, and tailor-made journeys. Through three decades of operating in the country’s wilderness areas, Bush Ways has developed an in-depth understanding of Botswana’s destinations, wildlife and tourism landscape.

Safari Experiences
Mobile safaris remain at the heart of the Bush Ways story.
Adventure Camping – an immersive wilderness experience for travellers who want to get close to nature. Guests travel between remote wilderness areas and stay in comfortable dome tents at private campsites, with the safari team preparing meals and managing the camp. Evenings around the campfire and nights beneath Botswana’s open skies form an integral part of the experience.
Premium Camping – the freedom of a mobile safari with additional comfort. Guests stay in spacious walk-in Meru-style tents with stretcher beds and en-suite facilities, while a dedicated safari team takes care of the camp and meals, travelling in purpose-built safari vehicles.
Tailor-Made Safaris – private journeys for individuals, families, groups and special-interest travellers, combining mobile camping, permanent camps and lodge accommodation to suit the interests, pace and budget of each traveller.

Northern Botswana
- Chobe Elephant Camp – on a ridge overlooking the Chobe River floodplains, with access to the wildlife-rich Chobe region.
- Sango Safari Camp – on the edge of the Khwai River; an intimate base for exploring Khwai and the surrounding Moremi Game Reserve.

Bush Ways’ professional guides are central to the company’s operations. Behind them is a wider team of camp staff, chefs, mechanics, reservations, operations and management who ensure that each safari runs safely and smoothly.
Responsible Tourism & the Bush Ways Foundation
The Bush Ways Foundation supports communities and conservation in areas connected to Bush Ways’ operations, including early childhood education in remote communities, skills development, guide training, conservation and anti-snaring initiatives, and community empowerment. One example is the annual Anthony Birtles Scholarship, which supports aspiring guides through professional training and practical experience.
