Ta Shebube is a 100% citizen owned eco-tourism safari company operating two camps in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (KTP), the first peace park to take off in Africa. KTP is a 38000sqkm conservation area that was established in the Year 2000, after the governments of Botswana and South Africa decided to merge the Gemsbok National Park and the Mabuasehube Game Reserve (Botswana) with the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park (South Africa) into one transfrontier peace park - KTP. It is one of the largest conservation areas in the world, and one of the last truly unspoilt ecosystems. Ta Shebube is the first, and so far, the only Botswana establishment to develop camps offering full board accommodation in KTP, at Rooiputs and Polentswa (two camps that are 200km apart). Offers include comfortable lodge accommodation, game drives, picnics and other activities in the vast, scenic and serene KTP, with its rich wildlife and abundant birdlife. The camps at Polentswa and Rooiputs were developed taking into account the highvalue, low-volume strategy that Botswana has adopted. At Ta Shebube, conservation is key, and thus we operate in a manner that minimises any potentially adverse impact on the fragile Kgalagadi environment.

The true art of safari is waking up with the crisp dawn air to the sound of birds rejoicing. Enjoying a warm cup of coffee, anticipating what the day has to offer. It’s heading out into the wild, open plains on foot in search of new ground and thrilling interactions. In the fast-paced, man-made world we live in, there is a pull towards authentic and honest travel and experiences. We’re going back to our original ‘Bush Camps’ roots and introducing our newest expedition-style camp to Botswana, with Linyanti Expeditions.

Our quest is to explore the wildest and most remote parts of Africa, with walking as the focus at Linyanti Expeditions, it’s the perfect way to learn about intricacies of the ecosystem. From amplifying the workings of the smallest creatures, to coming face-to-face with mighty beasts, your senses will be heightened. Mokoro and Game Drives are also on offer to experience different perspectives of the beautiful land.

With only 6 tents, the camp has an intimate atmosphere, ensuring a personalised service for each guest. The main area has two canvas-covered hubs; a dining area with an exposed kitchen and an open lounge. As with most of our camps, the campfire is at the centre, drawing guests to enjoy the authentic experience of the African bush outside. The tents are firmly rooted on the ground, giving that extra level of connection to nature. Each room has en-suite bathrooms with chemical eco-friendly toilets and al fresco bucket showers. The wow factor in the rooms is the ‘star suite’. Each tent has a gazebo extension, where beds can be moved at night to give the experience of sleeping beneath a blanket of glimmering stars, immersing yourself in the wonders of the wilderness while still staying in the security of a mesh-enclosed area.

One of Botswana’s hidden gems, the Boteti River offers breath-taking scenery and awe-inspiring wildlife sights as it makes its way across the salt pans. Overlooking the riverbed, Boteti River Camp is an oasis at the edge of Makgadikgadi National Park, near Khumaga Village and is within reach of Nxai Pan National Park and Central Kalahari Game Reserve – a perfect escape to explore the vast open landscapes of this semi-arid area.

The property features 8 en-suite chalets, a platform tent with private ablutions, swimming pool, a dining area and bar. An upstairs viewing lounge in the main area overlooking the Boteti River invites you to wait for the elephants or occasional zebra as they come by for a water break. For the adventurous traveller we also have 8 campsites. Each campsite features a fire place, water and power point, as well as a shaded area under which they can pitch their tents. The campsite area has shared ablutions, as well as an area for washing cooking equipment.

Guests have the choice between being completely independent and exploring this spectacular destination on their own with their own vehicle or joining any of the activities we offer: game drives in Makgadikgadi National Park and Nxai Pan, as well as a village walk to give one an appreciation of the culture of Khumaga village.
